Don
Tatman is responsible for management of the firm and coordination of
services for clients. Mr. Tatman has over 30 years experience
with the strategy, design, risk management, funding, and administration
of health and welfare benefit programs. He is experienced in
employee benefit consulting for small, mid-size, and large
organizations. Most assignments involve assisting clients to
develop attainable strategies and coordinating initiatives to meet
those objectives.
Prior to founding Leawood Consulting Group, Mr. Tatman was a consultant with Wachovia Corporation, a major banking concern. Previously, he was a consultant for Towers Perrin, a large international consulting firm. Early in his career, Mr. Tatman gained valuable experience working for two, national insurance carriers with a wide range of responsibilities covering major client relationship management, sales management, and underwriting/risk management capacities.
Mr. Tatman was involved in some of the earliest and most innovative work on consumer driven health plans and wellness initiatives. He served on the Board of Directors of a Liability Management Company, formed to manage and monitor benefits and costs for a large, national organization.
The cornerstone of Mr. Tatman’s expertise involves benefit strategy, risk management, communication efforts, educational efforts, and wellness initiatives. His unique experience and background also assists clients in managing the services and costs associated with benefit brokers, insurance companies, provider networks, Third Party Administrators (TPAs), attorneys, actuaries, and other benefit service providers.
Mr. Tatman has achieved CLU
and ChFC designations. He received a BA
from William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri in 1976. Don lives, works, and runs in Leawood,
Kansas. He and his wife Kathie have three daughters.
